About DCHK 50th Anniversary
cum D-Awards Celebration
Design Council of Hong Kong (DCHK) was established by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in 1968 with the mandate to promote the interest of local design industry, which the first chairman was Dr the Hon S Y Chung.2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of DCHK, under the leadership of Prof Eric Yim, DCHK is committed to further enhance Hong Kong design standard and promote local design.
The Council set up “D-Awards” to commemorate the 50th anniversary.“D-Awards” is established to encourage local entrepreneurs to adopt design thinking in their management operation. The awards also aim to recognise and encourage excellence as well as to promote successful practices and strategies in different aspects of industrial performance.
The DCHK 50th Anniversary cum D-Awards presentation ceremony will take place on 3 December 2018 during which “D-Awards” will be presented to 50 awarded companies.We are honoured to have invited the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Mr Edward Yau Tang-wah as the guest of honour. Also, the council will organise a concurrent D-exhibition with the theme“Co-create a happy city of respect”, to promote and recognise the importance and contribution of design in Hong Kong. Besides, the council will publish a special issue with Magazine P in December,to share the successful practices of D-Awards winners.
關於香港設計委員會 50周年誌慶
香港設計委員會成立於1968年，首任主席為鐘士元博士，旨在促進本地公司對設計的重視。今年正式踏入50周年，委員會在主席嚴志明教授的帶領下，繼續鼓勵及推廣香港設計。
為慶祝委員會昂然邁進金禧年，本會將舉行一系列誌慶活動，當中更包括本年度特別增設的”D-Awards”。“D-Awards”將會頒發予50間得獎企業，目的是促進設計思維、肯定設計對香港工業的重要性，以及鼓勵本港企業家採用設計思維於管理運作中，亦表揚和鼓勵在不同工業表現中有傑出成就的企業。
本會將於2018年12月3日舉行「香港設計委員會成立50周年暨D-Awards頒發典禮」，非常榮幸能夠邀請到商務及經濟發展局局長邱騰華作為典禮的主禮嘉賓。而且當晚亦將同時舉辦“D-exhibition”，邀請“D-Awards”得獎企業一同展出其代表性產品。配合「共創禮樂之都」的主題，展現出設計對香港品牌在這50年內的發展和重要性。另外，為表彰各得獎企業，更會印製“香港設計委員會聯乘雜誌”雜誌特刊，以推廣成功典範的經驗和策略。
