The 2016 HKAI Awards Presentation Ceremony-cum-Gala Dinner was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 13 December 2016.  The ceremony was officiated by the Hon C Y Leung, Chief Executive of the HKSAR.  This year on the Consumer Product Design category, 74 entries were received, all of which demonstrated extremely high standards of product innovation, and finally one Grand Award, three Awards and seven Certificate of Merit winners triumphed at the gala.

Winners are listed as follows:

This year, the Grand Award winner was WowWee Group Limited. Their winning pet named CHiP^TM won the hearts of the judges and the public.   CHiP^TM is an intelligent and affectionate robotic pup which will respond with actions through commands using a SmartBand.  Judges commended the uniqueness and innovativeness of the product, as no two CHIP^TM are alike.  Each CHiP^TM has an in-built sensor to interact with the player which shapes its individual behaviour.  The public equally adores CHiP^TM with the product on high demand in the marketplace.

2016香港工商業獎頒獎典禮暨晚宴於12月13日假座香港會議展覽中心舉行。香港特別行政長官梁振英為當晚主禮嘉賓。今年共收到74個展示出高設計水平及具創意的參賽作品，其中選出了一個設計大獎作品，3個設計奬作品及七個優異證書作品。

各得獎公司如下：

今屆設計大獎由WowWee Group Limited的可愛機械小狗CHiP^TM 奪得。CHiP^TM心得各評審委員及公衆的高度評價。牠擁有先進的傳感器和人工智能程式，因應使用智能手帶的命令做出不同的動作。評審委員稱讚CHiP^TM既有創意，又獨一無二；人工智能今牠在互動中學習，所以沒有兩隻CHiP^TM是一樣的。CHiP^TM推出市場後反應極佳，一度供不應求。
