“From Mass Production to Scale Customisation: Challenges & Opportunities for Hong Kong Industrial Design Professionals” major objective is to enhance the knowledge and external competitiveness of Hong Kong Industrial Design Professionals’ (HKIDP) services through capacity building.
Industrial design professionals and manufacturers have been going through many phases of innovation hand in hand since the industrial revolution. In Hong Kong, the HKIDP and manufacturing industries are experiencing a mismatched growth due to challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0 nowadays. HKIDP may adopt advanced technology to adapt to the tendency of scale customisation and shortened product life cycle.
